The Brotherhood of St. Moses the Black -- a pan-Orthodox nonprofit organization. Its mission is to minister to Americans the gift of Orthodoxy. In an effort to be good stewards of the manifold grace of God (I Peter 4:10), the organization presents an annual conference that targets those who have little exposure to Orthodoxy and which explores in depth the African roots of Orthodoxy (click here to listen to audio recordings of the 2007 Ancient Christianity and African-American Conference on Ancient Faith Radio). Its vision is to bring Americans closer to Jesus Christ. The Brotherhood is administered by Fr. Moses Berry of Theotokos 'Unexpected Joy' Orthodox Mission Church (OCA) in Ash Grove, Missouri, and by Dr. Carla N. Thomas of Anniston, Alabama. Fr. Moses is also curator of the Ozarks Afro-American Heritage Museum. |
